Italians love their meat, and Carters has gone to town here. Carnivores will relish the restaurant’s offerings plucked from the grill and served sizzling with hand cut chips, portobello mushroom and onion rings. 28-day dry-aged steaks are juicy and tender, drizzled in a choice of sauces from pepper to Diane. The pizzas are light and crispy, just as proper Italian pizza should be, while a clutch of classic burgers also warrant consideration. Carters isn’t just an upmarket restaurant of course: it’s also a chic contemporary bar, all gleaming chrome, marble and polished wood. Take your pick from a wide range of craft beers, ales, gin, wine, prosecco and champagne. Alternatively, peruse the cocktail menu before treating yourself to a Top Cat Mojito or The Busby Bramble, made with Edinburgh Dry Gin.
